Addon: I just found out that the XP you gain is not an absolut value, it depends on your level. I just leveld up to 39 and now i get between 1 and 3 XPs more for each fish than with level 38.

      Heya,

i think a have now a formula for calculating the XP.

Lets say we have the XP a fish gives at level 15 (XP@15) and we want to know what xp it gives at level A then we can calcuate it like this:

      XP@A = XP@15 + XP@15 / 16 * (A – 15)

To get the XP@15 of a fish we need to know to values from different levels, lets say Y and Z. The value will be better the more levels are inbetween them.

      XP@15 = XP@Y – (XP@Z – XP@Y) / (Z-Y) * (Y – 15)

The remaining problem is that the XP values we see for each level are rounded, so our XP@15 is a just a guess. But a good guess :) If you have more values then you can optimized it.

Lets take for example the Bird Wrasse, we know the following:

      XP@40 = 137
      XP@42 =177

      therefor XP@15 = 53.40 (optimized guess)

Another value for normal Wrasse: XP@15 = 14

Now come on and check my forumlas and if nobody finds a flaw make a XP@15 column!

the chart of most profitable fish is flawed. It assumes that you have unlimited money. the ideal choice of fish depends on how much money and how many tank spaces you have.
      for example:
If you are just starting out and have only 100 coins and room for 10 fish.
you can buy 6 clownfish for a total of 12 profit and 6 hours to raise. grand total of 2 coins per hour.
      Or:
you could buy 2 banngai cardinals for 14 profit over 12 hours. grand total: 1.17 coins per hour

Clownfish are your best option until you can fill your aquarium with them. then go to a more expensive fish

The chart isn’t “flawed” It just requires common sense to use. It’s impossible to factor in how much money a person has unless someone wants to spend a long time, using the chart to make a “best xp for my level and available money” script. Otherwise, the person just has to be smart and realize you can’t buy the fish the chart says unless you have enough to pay for it.

Profit/hr does not really show which fish you make you money the fastest. To find that, you need to divide profit/hr by cost. I’ve used the data here to do this, and here are the results (multiplied by 100 for readability). This shows which fish, given a certain amount of money, will make you the most profit.

      49 Eagle Ray 41 72 1700 1919 219 3.04 0.179
      50 Pink Jellyfish 48 72 2932 3284 352 4.89 0.167
      51 Orange Jellyfish 48 72 2932 3284 352 4.89 0.167
      52 Catshark 42 80 2625 2950 325 4.06 0.155

For an (extreme) example, using 1600g on 100 clownfish is much better than using 1500g on 1 angler. In the time the angler makes you 196 profit (72 hours), the 100 clownfish can be grown and sold 12 times over, making 200 profit 12 times, or 2,400 profit. It’s a lot more clicking, but it’s over 10 times the profit. You can calculate this by comparing the clownfish and angler Profit/Hr/Cost number in the chart above.

The above post about profit/hour/cost is wrong: it is always best to fill your tank up with 40 of the best profit/hr fish. If you can’t afford 40 Anglers, then buy 40 of a different fish.

      Example:
The above post claims buying 100 clownfish 7x will be more profitable than 1 angler. But what if you buy 1 Angler and 99 clownfish 7x? Then you get just 14 less profit for the clownfish – 2386 instead of 2400. But you will get 196 profit for the angler instead, giving you 2582 profit. If you bought 100 anglers, you would have made 196*100 = 19,600 profit in 72 hours, instead of 2400 profit for the clownfish.

As such, it is always better to buy 40 fish and sell them immediately as they reach adulthood to obtain the best profit. If all you can afford is 40 clownfish, then this is the way to go, but if you CAN afford to buy 40 Anglers or 40 or any other fish that are more profit/hr, then you will make much more money this way.

      To further extrapolate…

True attainable profit per hour and the ideal fish to purchase is a function of available space (tanks), available coin, current level, and the calculated profit per hour of each fish.

      For example, assuming maximum level,
If you have 50000 coin and 100 tank space for fish, the Threadfin is the ideal fish to buy, giving you 193 coin per hour profit.
If you have 10000 coin and 100 tank space for fish, the Banngai Cardinal is the ideal fish to buy, giving you a total 58 coin per hour profit.
If you have 10000 coin and 40 tank space for fish, the Foxface is the ideal fish to buy, giving you a totla 41 coins per hour profit.

Now, the same scenarios as above, but at level 30.

If you have 50000 coin and 100 tank space for fish, the Porcupine Puffer is the ideal fish to buy, giving you 90 coin per hour profit.
If you have 10000 coin and 100 tank space for fish, the Banngai Cardinal is the ideal fish to buy, giving you a total 58 coin per hour profit.
If you have 10000 coin and 40 tank space for fish, the Porcupine Puffer is the ideal fish to buy, giving you a total 34 coin per hour profit.

Couldnt you do clownfish for the first 22 levels?

Seeming its a 6 hour fish and has a 0.33 return.

So buying two sets of that in 12 hours gets you a 0.66 return compared to the Bangai Cardinal which is 0.58

      Guize?
